Commendations / Complaints / Biased Based Complaints 

Feedback is vital to our profession and we encourage you to share with us your experience. Individuals may notify us of a commendation/complaint in one five methods: 1) online; 2) phone; 3) email; 4) mail; and 5) in person.

Ticket/Citation/Verbal Warning: Compliments/Complaints generated as a result of a ticket, citation, or verbal warning may be submitted using one of the methods below. Please provide as much information as possible (ticket and/or citation number, location of contact, date and time).

How to Notify Highland Park DPS for Commendations / Complaints:

Online:

Individuals may submit their commendations/complaint to HPDPS online by completing the Citizen Interaction Form:

Please provide as much information about your experience as possible (name of officer(s), date of incident, time, and location). The information you provide will be forwarded to the appropriate supervisory personnel for review.

By Phone:

Individuals may report commendation/complaints by phone to 214-521-5000. This phone line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

By Email:

Individuals may report commendations/complaints to HPDPS by email. Please provide as much information about the incident and your experience (name of officer(s), date of incident, time, and location). The information you provide will be forwarded to the appropriate supervisory personnel for review. 

By Mail:

In Person:

Individuals may report commendations/complaints to a HPDPS staff person directly, or by completing the commendation/complaint form located in the HPDPS dispatch lobby, 4700 Drexel Drive (normal business hours and after-hours). The commendation/complaint form is also available at the Customer Service Desk in Town Hall, 4700 Drexel Drive (open Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
