Mobile Printing
The Highland Park Library offers mobile printing. Patrons can print within the Library or remotely from smartphones, tablets, and laptops or personal computers and then pick up their print jobs at the Library.
Important Information
- You will need an email address and a computer, laptop, or device with an Internet connection to use mobile printing.
- Supported file types are Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Visio, JPEG, and TIFF.
- Maximum file size for each print job is 20 MB.
- Once your print job is successfully sent to the Library printer, you will have 24 hours to visit the Library to pay for and retrieve your print job. If you do not retrieve your print job within 24 hours of submission, you may need to send your job again.
- Print cost per page is 10¢ for 8 1/2 x 11 and legal size black and white, 20¢ for 11 x 17 black and white, and 25¢ for 8 1/2 x 11 color. Cash only please. Once you have sent your print job, you will not be able to change the number of pages or otherwise modify the print job at the Library. Please use Print Preview before sending.
Ways to Use Mobile Printing
- Use the PrinterOn app for:
- Pictures or documents on your phone or tablet
- Printing from websites that require a login to use them (not email)
- Use the Print Portal for:
- Photos, resumes, spreadsheets - any Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, PDF, JPEG, or TIFF file you save on your computer or laptop and upload to the Print Portal

- Forwarding emails, with or without attachments, to the printer
Get the PrinterOn App:

- Save the printer by tapping on the star.

To Print:
- From the job selection screen choose Documents, Photos, Email or Web.

- Web opens up a browser inside the PrinterOn app. Type in the address of the website you want to print. Websites and Google Drive work well.
- Email - For printing email, please use the email function in the next section.
- When you have selected what you want to print, tap the printer icon in the upper right to go to the print preview page.
- If the printer you want to use is not displayed, tap the printer name to bring up the list of available printers (or search for a new one).
- Tap the gear in the upper right of the print preview page to choose the number of copies, pages to print, paper size and orientation.
- The color copier settings give you the option to choose black and white - please do not use. You will be charged 25¢ instead of 10¢. Instead, go back and choose the black and white printer. If the document is multiple pages, you will see an option to select which pages to print.
