We have observed a slight increase in the number of mosquitoes found in the mosquito traps, and all have tested negative for West Nile Virus. The recent rainfall is a reminder to follow the "4 D's" of personal protection.
Mosquito season typically runs from May to October, with peak activity in August. Residents are encouraged to:
- Drain all standing water
- Avoid Dawn and Dusk when mosquitoes are most active
- Dress appropriately in long sleeves and pants
- Defend yourself against mosquitoes with an effective repellent
