Beginning March 1, The City of University Park will begin a public works project to improve water lines along Hillcrest Avenue north of Mockingbird Ln. The project will require pavement removal and a temporary shifting of traffic lanes on Hillcrest Ave.
Traffic Flow Adjustments
The southbound lanes of Hillcrest Ave., from Daniel Ave. to Potomac Ave., will be closed with the start of construction, and remain closed for the entirety of the project. Motorists using Hillcrest Ave. will be provided with two lanes of northbound travel, and southbound traffic will utilize the existing left-hand turn lane.
Nightime Traffic Flow Adjustments
Southbound traffic will take Daniel Ave. west to Dickens Ave. Northbound traffic will be routed west at University Blvd. During night work, Dickens will become the primary north/south thoroughfare through the construction zone, at which point motorists will be able to turn east to get back to Hillcrest.
