TeenTober is a nationwide celebration, developed by the Young Adult Library Services Association, hosted by libraries every October and aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways libraries help teens learn new skills, and fuel their passions in and outside the library.
Discover exciting physical and digital resources and activities for teens at the Highland Park Library. Check out a Merge Cube Kit, and discover the power of augmented reality, by holding and interacting with 3D virtual objects in the palm of your hand.
Create, code, and build circuits with the Library's Teen Tech Kits, including an Ozobot Kit and LittleBits Coding Kit. Merge Cube Kits and Tech Kits, which are funded by the Highland Park Quality of Life Foundation and The Friends of the Highland Park Library through La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas, are available for check out at the Library.
Offering over 70 languages to discover, learn a new language with Mango Languages, available for free with your Highland Park Library card.
Plus, craft new skills, design a bookmark, or learn a new language in the Learn with Laura video tutorial series on Vimeo and Niche Academy.
Don't forget to email lcollins@hplibrary.info to reserve a TeenTober Activity Kit for pick up at the Library. Kits contain earbuds, a notebook, and more!
