June 2 - July 28

Summer
Reading Club
events are sponsored
by Christine McKenny and
Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate

Summer reading helps children retain their reading skills and sets them up for a great start to the next school year. Read for fun and read often this summer. Starting Friday, June 2 children can register for the Summer Reading Club and pick up their reading log at the Library, 4700 Drexel Drive, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Online registration is also available. Parents and caregivers may register children by completing the online form and printing a reading log.

How the Summer Reading Club Works
Children use their reading logs to keep track of the number of books they read or someone reads to them over the summer. Once children read five books they will receive a special prize. When children have read ten books and finished four creative tasks, they will receive a certificate, a T-shirt courtesy of Big Frog of Park Cities, and have a book donated in their honor to this summer’s selected recipient organization, Reach Out and Read.

Reach Out and Read prepares Texas’ youngest children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together.

Thursday, August 31 is the last day to turn in reading logs and receive the certificate and book donation.

Special Events
The Library has many special events for kids this summer. All events are at 10:00 a.m. in Prather Park.
