Summer reading helps children retain their reading skills and sets them up for a great start to the next school year. Read for fun and read often this summer.

How the Summer Reading Club Works
Children use their reading logs to keep track of the number of books they read or someone reads to them over the summer. Once children read five books they will receive a special prize. When children have read ten books and finished four creative tasks, they will receive a certificate, a T-shirt courtesy of Big Frog of Park Cities, and have a book donated in their honor to this summer’s selected recipient organization, Reach Out and Read.

Reach Out and Read prepares Texas’ youngest children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together.

Registration for the Summer Reading Club has ended. Children may turn in their completed reading logs at the Library through Thursday, August 31 to receive their certificate, T-shirt, and book donation.
