Children's Summer Reading Club

HPL Childrens SRC Web Page Image.png

The Highland Park Harvey R. “Bum” Bright Library is using Beanstack, an online reading tracking software and app, as part of the 2019 Summer Reading Club for ages 0 - 5 and grades 1st - 6th.  Starting June 1, children may register for the Summer Reading Club on Beanstack. Once registered, children can log their time spent reading, activities completed, and Library events attended to earn badges and prizes.

If children wish to participate in the Summer Reading Club through a paper log, they may register and pick up a log at the Library starting June 1.

When readers complete their Summer Reading Club requirements, they will have a book donated in their name to a child at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, this year’s Sharing Literacy program recipient. The Sharing Literacy Program is generously supported by the Friends of the Highland Park Library.

To register for Teen Summer Reading, starting June 1, please visit tinyurl.com/teensrp2019. Open to students entering 7th - 12th grades. Teen Summer Reading is a collaboration between the University Park Public Library and the Highland Park Library and is sponsored by Christine McKenny and Allie Beth Allman & Associates.
