Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Town offers residents three ways to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste:  On-Call Curbside Collection, Special in Town Drop-off events, and Drop Off at the Chemical Collection Center. 

On-Call Curbside Collection of Household Hazardous Waste 
Available April 1, 2019. Residents of Highland Park have new options in Town regarding the collection of their Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). The option of dropping off materials at the Plano Road location will remain for our residents; The Town of Highland Park, in partnership with Dallas County and Stericycle is offering Town residents a new, on-call curbside collection for HHW.  For more about this program: On-Call HHW Flyer  

How To Request the On-Call Curbside Collection of HHW  

This service is offered to Town residents for $160 per collection, which will show on the next month's water bill. Curbside Collection can be scheduled 24-hours in advance by calling (214) 521-4161. Place your items in an open cardboard box, with a list of items included at your parkway curbside. Curbside Collection for HHW Form 

Special in-Town Drop Off Event for Household Hazardous Waste on Saturday, October 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This service is offered twice per year.  Place your items in an open cardboard box, with a list of the items included on the HHW Event Form and bring them to 3801 Lexington Avenue on October 26, 2019 between 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, registration required.  This service is free to Highland Park residents. Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off at the Chemical Collection Center 
Residents of Highland Park are eligible to use the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center to dispose of chemicals and other hazardous items including:

  • Paint
  • Solvents
  • Lawn and garden chemicals
  • Pool chemicals
  • Cleaners
  • Polishes
  • Batteries
  • Automotive fluids
  • Fluorescent light bulbs/tubes
  • Computers
  • Cell Phone

The Center is located at 11234 Plano Road, Dallas TX 75243, and is open:

  • Tuesdays: 9:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This service is free to Highland Park residents. A photo ID and utility bill are required for entry.
