Capital Improvements

The Town of Highland Park has a number of capital improvement projects under design or construction. For more information about future construction, contact the Engineering Department at 214-521-4161.

Current Projects
Note: This list is subject to change based on priority and budgetary needs:

Preston Road Reconstruction (2019)
The project will be from the Town's North property line near Potomac Avenue heading South to Beverly Drive. The project should last 6 months, ending in April 2019. The project will contain utility and paving work on both sides of Preston Road.

Preston Road & Armstrong Parkway Reconstruction (2019)
The project will begin in June 2019 at last till late July 2019. The project will repair and or reconstruct new driving lanes.         

Milling and Resurfacing Project (2019)
The project is designed to aid with the life expectancy of the Town's roads. By milling the old surface away and placing
new asphalt, the Town's hopes to maintain a smoother road while increase its lifespan. Various locations in the Town are currently being resurfaced. The Town's will be sending out notices to residents for both the milling and resurfacing portions of the project.

Miscellaneous Concrete Spot Repairs 2019
The project will include replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and street pavement repairs along various streets in the Town. After completion, new asphalt will be placed on the streets.

Upcoming Projects

  • Mockingbird Reconstruction and Resurfacing 2019.
    • The project will begin in February 2019 along Mockingbird Lane located between Airline Drive and Hillcrest Avenue. Various lane closures will occur but two-way traffic will be made available.
