Email, text, and phone scams are increasing; and more people are falling victim to the bait. In an effort to educate the public about scams, the University Park Public Library and Highland Park Library are offering access to a fun and entertaining video about how scams and cons work, and how to protect your information.
James Munton, author of The Con: How Scams Work, Why You’re Vulnerable & How to Protect Yourself, presents an entertaining and informative program in which he educates the public how scams work, how to spot them and which precautions people need to take. He also includes information about COVID-19 scams that are currently making the rounds. With more than 15 years of experience as a deception expert, Munton is one of the country’s most in-demand speakers on the subject. He has appeared on ABC News and Fox, and has been featured in articles in The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.
To receive access to the video, please email Holly Russell, Adult Services Librarian at the Highland Park Library for the link.
