CALEA maintains a collection of standards which have been developed by public safety practitioners, and these standards serve as a professional benchmark for public safety agencies. With regard to the delivery of public safety services, the public call-in session provides the community an opportunity to give feedback to the CALEA assessors: this feedback is an important component to the accreditation process for Highland Park DPS. Since 1988, CALEA has recognized the Highland Park Department of Public Safety with professional excellence.
