The Highland Park Harvey R. “Bum” Bright Library is happy to announce new, extended hours of operation; modifying hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to a 9:00 p.m. closure time.

The extra hours and the increased services offered by staff, implemented as a result of a master planning project to guide staff in meeting community needs, give the public more opportunities to connect to new interests and spring into new adventures.

To kick-off the new hours, the Library will be celebrating with special activities the latter half of March. An open house will be held Thursday, March 21, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. As part of the open house, visitors can peruse activity tables of STEAM kits and robotic devices that card holders can borrow as well as attend a Digital Books 101 course to learn about downloading digital materials. Patrons can connect to new pursuits or get reconnected to well-loved hobbies and classic titles.

Highland Park Library cards are free for residents of the Town of Highland Park. Please visit during business hours to fill out a library card application. New hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Library is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The Library is located inside the Highland Park Town Hall at 4700 Drexel Drive.

For more information on programs and services available from the Highland Park Library, stop by the Library and ask a staff member for an introduction, visit, or call the Library at 214-559-9400. The Highland Park Library faithfully serves as the community’s Connection to Lifelong Learning.
