[ARCHIVED] HP Library Summer Reading Club - May 29 through July 27
The Highland Park Harvey R. “Bum” Bright Library will be using Beanstack, an online reading tracking software and app, as part of the 2018 Summer Reading Club for ages 0-18. Beanstack is an online reading tracking software and app used by libraries around the country to encourage lifelong reading in their communities. Library Website
Specific online programs will be open for ages 0-5, readers entering grades1-6, and readers entering grades 7-12. Readers will accumulate points and electronic badges in Beanstack by logging minutes read, Library events attended, and activities completed. If readers wish to participate in the Summer Reading Club through a paper log, they may register and pick up a log in person at the Library starting May 29.
When readers complete their Summer Reading Club requirements, they will have a book donated in their name to a child at Trinity River Mission, this year’s Sharing Literacy program recipient. Trinity River Mission serves over 550 students in West Dallas through tutoring and mentorship programs. The Sharing Literacy Program is generously supported by the Friends of the Highland Park Library.
