The Highland Park Harvey R. “Bum” Bright Library is excited to announce the launch of HelpNow, from Brainfuse, for library cardholders. With HelpNow, students in kindergarten through introductory college can receive assistance from live, online tutors using an interactive, virtual whiteboard to chat, write, draw, and copy/paste. Tutors are available online Monday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

HelpNow also offers students a 24/7 Writing Lab and Question Center as well as skills building in core subjects, SAT/ACT preparation, personalized study plans, and targeted lessons for elementary school to college-bound learners. With the 24/7 Writing Lab, users will receive detailed feedback on their writing within 24 hours.

In addition, HelpNow’s Adult Learning Center provides access to GED prep, English as a Second Language assistance, U.S. citizenship test prep, Microsoft Office support, and career resources including job search links and resume writing assistance. Microsoft Office support allows patrons to ask questions about Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Highland Park Library cardholders may access HelpNow and the Adult Learning Center by visiting the Library's Databases page, clicking on the link to HelpNow, and entering their library card number. The Library’s subscription to HelpNow was made possible by a donation from the Highland Park Quality of Life Foundation.

For more information on the resources, please stop by the Library and ask a staff member for an introduction, visit www.hplibrary.info, or call the Library at 214-559-9400.

Highland Park Library cards are free for residents of the Town of Highland Park. Please visit the Library during business hours, Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., to fill out a library card application. The Library is located at 4700 Drexel Drive, 75205.
