Highland Park Library will mark the close of its 2017 “Build a Better World” Summer Reading Club, with a celebration designed to spark children’s imaginations. The event will take place on Friday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. in Prather Park, which is located across the street from the Highland Park Town Hall at the southeast corner of Drexel Drive and Euclid Avenue.
At the event, children will have fun exploring their creativity as they participate in themed activities and games. Program attendees will also meet local author Nell Taylor. Her picture book, Potatoland and the Fable of Thunder and Lightning, tells how the antics of King Rufus of Potatoland accidentally creates the thunder and lightning everyone around the world knows.
Also, children may turn in reading logs if they have not already done so. Children unable to attend the event may turn in their reading logs at the Library through Thursday, August 31. The Highland Park Library is located at 4700 Drexel Drive and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This event wraps up the summer event series sponsored by Christine McKenny and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. For more information about the Summer Reading Club, please visit www.hplibrary.info or call the Library at 214-559-9400
