Join the Highland Park Library and the Highland Park Department of Public Safety (HPDPS) for a summer reading event in Prather Park on Friday, June 16 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m. Prather Park is located across the street from the Highland Park Town Hall at the southeast corner of Drexel Drive and Euclid Avenue.
The June 16 event is the perfect opportunity for children to discover and learn how to “Build a Better World” through community service. HPDPS officers will be present to meet with children and explain the various components of public safety. All aspects of public safety will be represented, and children may interact with police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers and detectives. In addition to meeting HPDPS officers, children will participate in a series of fun, educational, and informative crafts designed by Highland Park Library staff to complement the theme of the Summer Reading Club. The event is free and open to children of all ages and their caregivers.
Children may register for the Library’s Summer Reading Club at the event.
Throughout the summer the Library will host other Summer Reading Club events. The summer event series is generously sponsored by Christine McKenny and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.
