The South Dallas Community Food Center opened in 1999 to serve the South Dallas/Fair Park community. The center provides low-income families with nutritional food on a weekly basis by distributing groceries, hot meals, bus passes and gas cards. Each month, the center provides food to 9,000 or more families. For more information on the center, please visit here.
The food drive is the inaugural project of the HP Community Assisting Neighbors (CAN) committee, which is a Town of Highland Park employee initiative focused on community outreach and volunteerism with the goal of identifying and organizing ways for Town of Highland Park employees to positively affect the lives and wellbeing of citizens in North Texas. For more information on HP CAN please contact Kelle Hall, Communications Manager for Highland Park Department of Public Safety, at 214-521-4161.
