Kids, be an eco-hero while learning all about Monarch butterflies, the most famous of all butterflies, and their annual migration phenomenon.
The event will be on Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m. in Prather Park and is open to children of all ages. Staff from the Texas Discovery Gardens will guide the program and even bring some live butterflies for attendees to see.
“Marvelous Monarchs” is part of the summer event series for the Highland Park Library’s 2015 “Every Hero Has a Story” Summer Reading Club. The summer event series is generously sponsored by Christine McKenny and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.
Remember there is still time to register for the Summer Reading Club. After registering, children receive their reading log to keep track of the number of books they read or someone reads to them. Once children read five books they will receive a free circus ticket voucher for the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. When children have read and recorded the titles of ten books, they have completed their log and will receive a certificate and have a book donated in their honor to the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
