[ARCHIVED] National Library Week

National Library Week 2023 There's More to the Story Logo

April 23 - 29 is National Library Week (NLW), which is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions, and promote library use and support. First occurring in 1958, NLW is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and observed in libraries across the country each April.

Libraries are full of stories in a variety of formats from picture books to large print, audiobooks to eBooks, and special collections. But there's so much more to the story.

Library programming brings communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through such events as story times, crafting classes, and lectures. And library infrastructure advances communities, providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for businesses, job seekers, and entrepreneurs.

We hope you will celebrate NLW with us through special events and outreach.
