[ARCHIVED] Virtual Reality Headsets at the HP Library

Merge VR Headset

The Highland Park Library now offers Merge AR/VR Headsets for check out. Explore, create, and experiment with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while powering your imagination.

The new headsets are an addition to the Merge Cube Kits. The flexible, durable design of the Merge AR/VR Headset is perfect for youth and adults since each headset is made out of a comfortable and rugged foam, fits any face, withstands everyday bumps and drops, and is super easy to clean.

The headset is compatible with most modern iOS and Android smartphones. Simply add VR apps or videos to your device, set-up a viewer profile, insert your smartphone into the headset, and get started.

The Merge Headset works with augmented reality experiences using the Merge Cube, an award-winning STEM tool that allows users to hold virtual objects and learn in ways never possible before. Both the cubes and headsets can utilize content from corresponding free Merge EDU apps, available for Apple and Android devices.

Each kit includes a Merge Cube, Merge AR/VR Headset, login information for Merge EDU apps, and laminated user guides packaged in a convenient tote.

Funding for the Merge Cubes was made possible by the Highland Park Quality of Life Foundation. Funding for the Merge AR/VR Headsets was made possible by the Friends of Highland Park Library through a grant from La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas.

The Highland Park Library faithfully serves as the community’s Connection to Lifelong Learning.
