Ice Cold Science

July 14, 3:00 p.m. - Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History: Ice Cold Science 

Escape the hot Texas summer with some cool science! Learn about heat, cold, and thermodynamics as we make ice cream in a bag in this online presentation from the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History.

  • On July 14, the Library will send out a link to the show to email subscribers. Please feel free to share the link with family and friends. Please email lcollins@hplibrary.info to be added as an email subscriber.

July 21, 3:00 p.m. - Virtual Crafternoon: Snake Knitting

Join Miss Zoe and Miss Laura for a Virtual Crafternoon. Use your imagination to craft cardboard tube knitted snakes in this live, hands-on Zoom workshop.

  • Please email lcollins@hplibrary.info by Tuesday, June 22 to register and receive the meeting code and password, and to reserve and pick up a To-Go Craft Kit at the Library before the program. This program is limited to 20 Zoom participants.

July 28, 1:00 p.m. - The Ravenmaster of the Tower of London

In a live presentation straight from England, Chris Skaife, Ravenmaster and Yeoman Warder at the Tower of London, will share the folklore, history and superstitions surrounding both the Tower ravens and their home, as well as what it’s like to care for the most important birds in England!

  • Please email lcollins@hplibrary.info by Tuesday, July 27 to register and receive the meeting code and password. This program is limited to 100 Zoom participants.

Be sure to sign up for the 2021 Children’s Summer Reading Club at hptx.beanstack.org. Participants can earn 25 points towards their reading goal for each virtual event they attend this summer.
