Capital Improvements

The Town of Highland Park has a number of capital improvement projects under design or construction.  For more information about future construction, contact the Engineering Department at 214-521-4161.

Current Projects
Note: This list is subject to change based on priority and budgetary needs:

4300 Block of Southern Avenue and Livingston Avenue Drainage Improvements
The project is underway along Douglas Avenue by the Highland Park Village.
The project is designed to aide with drainage issues in the easement. A new storm sewer line will be placed
in the easement and connected to the existing line located in Douglas Avenue.

3500-3700 Blocks of Armstrong Avenue and Crescent Avenue Alley Rehabilitation
The project is designed to replace the aged water and sewer lines in the alley after completion of the gas main replacement by ATMOS Energy. New concrete will be placed in the alley after completion. The Town's contractor will be moving into the 3500 block beginning March 6, 2017. Update: the project is going well with the 3500 block having concrete paving placed. 

3500-3700 Blocks of Euclid Avenue Alley Rehabilitation
The project is designed to replace the aged water and sewer lines in the alley after completion of the gas main replacement by ATMOS Energy. New concrete will be placed in the alley after completion. The Town's contractor will be moving into the 3700 block beginning October 24, 2016. Update: the project is going well with the final 3700 block having concrete paving placed. The alley should be open for traffic next week, 2/13/2017.

Douglas Park Drainage Improvement
The project began in November with the installation of a new storm sewer line from Armstrong Pkwy. into Douglas Park for the relief of standing water in the park. The project should last through the holidays. UPDATE: The storm drain has been placed and the park has been graded.

4600 Blocks of S. Versailles Avenue and Belclaire Avenue Alley Rehabilitation
The project is designed to replace the aged water and sewer lines in the alley. New concrete will be placed in the alley after completion. UPDATE: The sewer line has been completed.

4600 Blocks of Lorraine Avenue and Belclaire Avenue Alley Rehabilitation
The project is scheduled to begin on February 13, 2017 and is designed to replace the aged water and sewer lines in the alley.
Once the utility are replaced, new concrete will be placed in the alley after completion.



Miscellaneous Concrete Spot Repairs 2017 (Annual contract, Ongoing)
The project will include replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and street pavement repairs along various streets in the Town. After completion, new asphalt will be placed on the streets.

Upcoming Projects

4600 Block of Mockingbird Lane and Southern Avenue Alley Rehabilitation
The project is designed to replace the aged water and sewer lines in the alley after completion of the gas main replacement by ATMOS Energy. New concrete will be placed in the alley after completion. Council awarded the bid the Excel 4 Construction who have a tentative start date of May 1, 2017.
