Town of Highland Park Local Disaster for Public Health Emergency Declaration - Approved on March 19, 2020
As we work together to meet the Stay Home Stay Safe Order issued by Dallas County to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the playgrounds and playground equipment located in the Town’s parks have been temporarily closed. These playgrounds are located in Abbott Park, Davis Park, and Fairfax Park. As an additional precaution, all outdoor drinking fountains town-wide are temporarily unavailable. In assessing recommendations from the Dallas County Judge, the decision has been made to close all tennis courts, Exall Lake bridge, Teddy Bear park, basketball court, Gazebo in Flippin Park, and the start of the pool season has been postponed. In addition to the changes mentioned above, the previously notified suspensions, postponements, cancellations of upcoming seasonal events, ongoing weekly events, and other public functions remain in place.
Events and public functions that will be impacted:
Municipal Court - Postponed. Visit this webpage for additional information.
April 25 Park Cities Recycling Event - Postponed
May 9 Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Event - Postponed
All Town of Highland Park Library Events and Programming – Postponed
All Town of Highland Park Parks and Recreation Events and Programming – Postponed
Response to COVID-19 remains a fluid situation and is subject to changing health advisories and County, State and Federal directives. For that reason, resumption and rescheduling of suspended or postponed events, activities and services will be determined with full consideration to public health and safety. The Town is not canceling or suspending Town Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Board of Adjustment meetings.
